Lloyd Cumming

CUMMING Lloyd was born March 31, 1930 in Cayley and passed of respiratory failure November 27, 2016 in Sundre. He graduated in 1954 from the University of Alberta with a BSc in Geology. Lloyd worked hard and was well respected in his profession as a Consulting Geologist in Calgary until his retirement in 1991. For the next 17 years, Lloyd thoroughly enjoyed living at Burnstick Lake where he sailed, canoed and cross country skied. He was proud of the cabin that he built with his own two hands. Lloyd was mayor of the summer village there for 12 years. He spent his final eight years of life in Sundre. Lloyd loved his family and was a kind, honest, decent man. He will be sorely missed. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Beth; 2 sons John (Sharon) & Ross; 2 daughters Leslie Calder, Jennifer (Kevin) Bodnarchuk; 3 grandsons Travis Cumming, Jesse & Tyson Bodnarchuk; 3 granddaughters Ruth Calder (Joel Tullock), Chelsea Cumming (Conor Murphy), Tia Nault; great-granddaughter Sienna Nault; sister Doreen Orman and brother Keith Cumming. He was predeceased by his parents Eva Eaglesham and Ted Cumming; 2 brothers Wesley & Eldon Cumming; sister Elaine Edy and his son Graeme. In keeping with Lloyd’s wishes no formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Sundre Palliative Care Association, Box 1259, Sundre, AB T0M 1X0.
