Alice Hagon

Alice was born Friday, January 13, 1922 in The Pas, Manitoba, to Mary and Joseph Chewpoy. Alice was the youngest of four children Jessie, David and George. Alice was united in marriage to Maurice Hagon, September 17, 1940 in The Pas, where they raised four children of their own; Maureen, Darrell, Richard and Timothy. Alice had numerous jobs over the years with her final job at the Hudson Bay Company until she retired. Alice had many interests. She loved dancing, especially tap dancing and enjoyed her curling, bowling and golf. Alice was also very active in the community as a member of the Order of the Royal Purple, Catholic Women’s League and Hospital Auxiliary. She loved her family, friends and always welcomed them with open arms. Alice passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at St. Anthony’s Hospital, The Pas, Manitoba, just 2 days shy of her 95th birthday. Alice was predeceased by her loving husband Maurice; son Darrell; mother Mary; father Joseph; sister Jessie; brothers David and George; sisters-in-law Margaret Coad and Teenie Chewpoy. Alice is survived by her daughter Maureen and her children Dale (Christine), Carrie; daughter-in-law Marilynn Hagon and her children Darrell Jr. (Renee), Carla (Scott); son Richard (Margret) Hagon and their children Jason (Michelle), Amilee (David), Alanna (Cale); son Tim (Bernadette) Hagon and their children Mark (Cindy), Ashley (Devin), Matthew; great grandchildren Reid, Brooke, Taylor, Jamie, Shelynn, Noah, Kassia, Taya, Reece, Emma, Nash, Diesel, Degan, Lily Anna. Prayers and visitation were held Tuesday, January 17, 2017, 7:00 pm, at the Chapel of Hemauer Funeral Home, The Pas with Father Robert Laroche presiding. Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, January 18, 2017, 1:00 pm, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cathedral, The Pas, with Father Paul Bringleson and Father Vijay Deivanayagam presiding. Music ministry was provided by Jana Dutkiewicz. Scripture readings were proclaimed by Bernadette Hagon and Reneé Castonguay. Memories of the heart were shared by Carrie Libbrecht. Interment followed at Lakeside Cemetery, The Pas, Manitoba. A reception was held for family and friends at the Guy Hall. Pallbearers were Dale Emslie, Mark Hagon, Reid Williamson, Greg Martin, Reg Libbrecht, Royan Boyes. Honorary Pallbearers were all Alice’s family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated by Alice’s family.
