Glen Clifford McLeod was born Thursday, December 12, 1940 in Kississing, Sherridon, Manitoba to his parents, Peter and Clara McLeod (nee Campbell). He was the seventh of twelve children. They made the move from Cold Lake to The Pas where he attended school. As a young boy, he enrolled himself in hockey, boy scouts and air cadets. At the young age of 15, his first job was putting metal roofing on the Bishop’s House. During the next 40 years of his work life, he worked on the DEW Line in the Arctic and in Churchill, Manitoba for Pan Am. He trained as a heavy duty machine operator and worked on building the floodway outside of Winnipeg in 1963. Glen worked various jobs as a heavy duty machine operator. In his late 20’s, he bought his own taxi business. In his 30’s, he sold his business and went on to be a supervisor at the Department of Highways (currently known as the Department of Infrastructure and Transportation. He retired from there at the age of 55. Glen met his wife Marlene in 1968 and they were married for 46 years. On December 4, 1970, the first of 3 children was born, Carrie, followed by Melanie, October 26, 1974 and Gary June 11, 1983. Glen was a good provider, a loving husband and an exceptional father and grandfather who will be dearly missed. Glen is survived by his wife Marlene; children Carrie, Melanie (Craig), Gary (Amanda); grandchildren Lakota and Aubrianna McLeod, Serenity, Troy, Presley and Shyin McLeod; siblings Sue, Judy (Ron) Shepertycki, Geraldine (John) Trotman, Grace (Ron) Clayton, Brian (Michelle) McLeod, Derek (Jennifer)McLeod; and a myriad of nieces and nephews. Glen was predeceased by his parents Peter McLeod and Clara Tyler; stepfather Sid Tyler; 3 brothers Thomas, Ronald and Alexander McLeod; 2 sisters Rose Richards and Maggie Joyal; In-laws Cliff and Kay Nelson; brothers-in-law James Nelson, Emil Richards, Ralph Crawford, John Joyal; sister-in-law Ruby Deminick; nephews Darryl Richards, Allan Richards; niece Bonnie Richards.
