Michael Gary McClintock Obituary

Michael (LB) Gary McClintock (June 5, 1986 – March 25, 2017) With great sadness the family announces the sudden passing of their son, brother, father, uncle and grandson, Michael Gary McClintock on March 25, 2017 at the young age of 30 years. Mike leaves to carry his memory his mother, Roberta, step-father Frank, father Eric, son, Ripley, sister Trisha (Darren), nephews Jared and Eric, grandparents, Poobah and Doug, and grandmother Barb and the love of his life, Karissa, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Michael was predeceased by his grandfather, Bob. Michael was born in Winnipeg on June 5, 1986. He spent his younger years in Elmwood, East Kildonan and Windsor Park. During this time, Michael built many friendships that would last through the years. Michael was a loving and fun uncle to his two nephews, Jared and Eric, and a protective and caring big brother. Mike always watched out for Trisha, making sure she was doing well and protecting her from anyone who was bothering her, unless it was Mike himself who was giving her a hard time. Although he picked on her, Michael’s love for his sister was unmeasurable and he would have done anything to make sure she was happy and safe. His protective nature also branched out to his cousin, Genna. Born months apart, Michael and Genna were constant companions as children and could often be found getting into some sort of trouble. Although they were only cousins, Michael and Genna’s special bond was always more like that of a brother and sister. As a teenager, one of his proudest moments was the day he realized he had finally gotten taller than Genna. Another proud moment came when Michael returned to school and earned his high school diploma, graduating from Horizon Adult Ed in 2010. Michael was a laid back, hard working, goal driven individual who worked hard and partied harder. Mike held a variety of jobs and most recently worked at Shoemaker Drywall. In August of 2014, Michael met the love of his life, Karissa and was the happiest anyone had ever seen him. Together they travelled to Cuba and the Dominican, enjoyed camping, going to the gym, watching Netflix and ordering ramen from Dwarf No Cachett. Their lives together were filled with love and laughter. One of his favorite quotes was “Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength and loving someone deeply gives you courage.” Michael was loved by many, and could be counted on to bring life to any party. He helped friends and family whenever he could. Michael was a happy go lucky guy, who had the biggest smile for everyone. He was full of energy and always on the go. In the weeks before his passing, Mike learned to play crib and really enjoyed the playing with his Mom, step-dad and Karissa. His huge presence in this world will be greatly missed by all who had the chance to know him. Till we meet again…..
