Ada Marie Weaver Obituary

Marie was born on February 3rd, 1944 on Pinchard's Island in Bonavista Bay. She was the beloved first child of Chesley and Nellie Rodgers. The young family moved to the Armyside where Marie made lifelong friends and attended school. After moving to the family home on Elizabeth Drive, Marie finished school and worked for the Canadian National Telegraph. Later, Marie worked as a Nursing Assistant until she met the love of her life, a dashing sailor named Charlie. Soon, babies arrived and Marie devoted her energy to raising two daughters, Julie and Jeanne. Life as a military wife was not easy but Marie made many friends and had lots of laughs along the way. Marie was recognized for her wonderful tan in the summer and usually had a large paperback in hand while sunbathing. She loved cats, movies, music and loved singing in St. Martin's Church choir and the Community Choir. She especially loved her grandchildren, Tyler, Chase and Autumn. Her infectious sense of humour and her strong determination enabled her to face many courageous battles. She refused to let cancer dictate her life. With all the challenges Marie faced with her own health, her priority was always caring for her husband Charlie. Leaving to mourn husband Charlie, daughters Julie and Jeanne (Trevor) and grandchildren Tyler, Chase and Autumn. Also, siblings Olive, Gordon (Paula) and Linda and many other relatives and friends.
