Clifford Harold Gillingham

Clifford Harold Gillingham (November 7, 1936 - November 9, 2016) Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital. Son of the late Ananias and Florence Gillingham, he is survived by his beloved wife Elizabeth (nee Peckford); loving and proud father of Paula (Gary Burt) and Jeffery (Geraldine Critch); loving grandfather of Julia Burt, Nathan Gillingham, and Ben Gillingham; brothers Carl (Ada), Eldred (Christine), Harvey, Ben (Linda), sister Madeline (Herbert); brothers and sisters-in-law Ralph Peckford (Darlene), Reg Peckford, Ros Blake (Anthony), Jeannette Gillingham (Hubert), Tom Peckford (Marie), Paul Peckford (Marjorie), Joan Squires, Randy Peckford (Glennis). Predeceased by his sisters Charlotte, Evelyn Marie and Daphne, and brothers and sisters-in-law Rosie Hodder, Pauline Gillingham, Dulcie Gillingham and Ray Head. Also survived by a large number of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Cliff was a person devoted to family and community. He doted over his family and was so very proud of his grandchildren. As a valued community member there was never a time when Cliff would deny the opportunity to help others. He spent tireless hours engaging with people in Gander Bay and encouraging them to support the community that he so loved. Cliff left a mark that will be felt by all those for whom he came in contact with. Resting at Holy Trinity Church, Wing’s Point. Visitation on Saturday, November 12th, 2016 from 1 p.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on November 13th, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Holy Trinity Church. Interment to follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Clarke’s Head. Flowers will be graciously accepted or donations may be made in his memory to Holy Trinity Church.
