Charlotte Risser Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Charlotte Lavinia Risser, 94, of Bridgewater and formerly of Rose Bay, announces her passing on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater with her family by her side. Born in Rose Bay, she was a daughter of the late St. Clair and Clara (Wagner) Keizer. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Charlotte was a member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Rose Bay. Charlotte was a proud homemaker, always taking great pride and joy in looking after her family. She could always be counted on to make sure everyone had plenty to eat and was especially known for her Boston cream pies, always a favourite. Charlotte lived a vibrant long life much of which can be attributed to her strong will and determined attitude. She remained very self-sufficient and with the aid of homecare workers since June of 2016, was able to remain in her own home. Words cannot express the gratitude and thankfulness we, the family, feel for the support and care shown to Mom by all those who made this possible. We will be forever grateful. A special thank you to Dr. Diane Edmonds and nurse Jenna. She is survived by her daughters Brenda (David) Dares; Back Centre, Darlene (Leo Collins) Crouse; Sydney, daughter-in-law Catherine Risser; Bridgewater, as well as nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored. Besides her parents, Charlotte was predeceased by her husband Paul, sons Wayne and Percy, brother Donald, sisters Emily, Beulah, Alice and great- grandson Matthew. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral home, 11213, Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg and from where a memorial service to celebrate Charlotte’s life will be held Friday, December 23, 2016 at 2:00 p. m., the Rev. Dr. Laurence Mawhinney officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Kingsburg. In lieu of flowers memorial donations made to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church; Rose Bay or Lakeview Cemetery, Kingsburg, would be appreciated by the family.
