Charles Rogers Obituary

ROGERS, Charles Norman – age 74, of Mood Road, Summerville, Yarmouth Co., passed away peacefully after fighting a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at home with his family by his side. Born September 18, 1942 he was a son to the late George and Hazel (King) Rogers. He worked as a Correctional Officer at the Yarmouth Jail for 25 years until his retirement. In his spare time he loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors as well as socializing. Charles will be sadly missed by his daughters, Debra Rogers, Tusket; Kimberly Fiander, Digby; and son, Bobby Rogers, New Brunswick; grandchildren, Randy, Amber, Megan, Brooke, and Evan; great grandchildren, Bredyn, Alisyn and Brier; brother, Bob and Donna Rogers, Arcadia; sisters, Shirley Worthington (Dick); Sandra Hatfield (Otis) Salmon River; and Darlene Bromm (Jerry), Yarmouth. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his youngest son, Randy Rogers and his beloved grandson, Ryan Rogers. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral or visitation by Charles’s request. Donations in memory can be made to the Friends of Gilles Boudreau Cancer Help Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.
