Mervyn MacLeod July 14, 1919 ~ December 6, 2016 Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on December 6, 2016 at the Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus. Mervyn was the loving husband to Edna for over 61 years, a caring father to Bob, Jeannie (Mike), Marilyn ( Mike), Neil (Heather), Norm (Marny), Ann (Don) and Beth (Kevin). An adored grandfather to; Melinda (Mike), Cynthia (Keith), Michael and Matthew, Amy (Rick), Steve (Megan) and Joe, Jesse, Robyn (Tom), Jeff (Brianna), Hayley (Shaun), Rick (Alicia), Jenna, Connell and Calder, Hayden and Nathan, Ryan, Kayla and Kristyn, and a great grandfather to Bella, Ollie, Malcolm, Brianna, MacKenzie, Liam and Simone. Mervyn is survived by his sister Lottie Woods, his brother-in-law Ivan Armstrong and sister-in-law Ethel and their families. Predeceased by His parents Harry and Ethel, siblings; Gerald (Jessie), Ruby, Henry, Mary, Ethel, Ivan and Art (Doreen). Mervyn was a long time resident of St. Helena, Nassagaweya where he enjoyed his life farming with his large and loving family. The MacLeod family wishes to thank Susan Attard, the PSW’s at ‘closing the gap’ especially Stephanie, Jennifer, Cathy and Debbie, the staff at Groves Memorial Hospital and Dr. Marin, Dr. Mcphaden and Dr. Noor. Friends will be received at the MacKinnon Family Funeral Home, 55 Mill Street East, Acton on Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Nassagaweya Presbyterian Church, 3097 15th Side Road, Campbellville on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 11 a.m. Burial to follow in the Church cemetery. Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or to the Nassagaweya Presbyterian Church would be appreciated by his family.
