Passed away peacefully at the Sherwood Park Manor on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at the age of 87 years. Beloved husband of the late Helen (Vaitekunas) Smetona and cherished father of Susan Smetona (Jamie Clow). Loving grandfather of Jordan Smetona. Fondly remembered by his sister Anne Smetona; his sister-in-law Jean Lacroix and dear uncle of Julie Granito (Carlo) and their children Lucas, Amy and Ariel, Robert Lacroix and Linda Saumure (Gilbert) all of Montreal. Predeceased by his parents Mary (Stankevicius) and Joseph Smetona; his son Richard Smetona and by his mother and father-in-law Julie and Albert Vaitekunas.

Family and friends are invited to a gathering in celebration of Victor's life at the Irvine Memorial Chapel at Roselawn, 2451 County Road 15, Maitland on Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 12-3 pm.
