Captain William "Bill" Donahue Obituary

DONAHUE, Captain William "Bill" - Passed away peacefully on Monday, December 5th, 2016 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, Cambridge in his 70th year. Dear son of the late Lawrence Donahue and Kathleen Pells. Beloved husband and best friend of Jan Donahue; loving father of Christopher (Tammy), Jennifer (Graham), Geoffrey, and Aaron. Cherished Grandpa of Jonah, Emily, Maya, Katelyn, Faye, Bobby, Molly, and Brody. Will be missed by brothers Rick (Dee), Dan (Sheila) and by brother-in-law Gene (Marcia) and mother-in-law Barb Sanvido. Dear uncle to Matthew, Greg (Lindsay), Anne, and Candice. Bill loved being a firefighter for the Cambridge Fire Department for 31 years. In that time he was a member of the N.F.P.A. Board and later in his career Captain of the Fire Education and Public Relations Division. He helped start the Fire Safety Village and the Fire Museum. Bill's family will welcome friends and relatives at the Lounsbury Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Blvd., Cambridge on Wednesday, December 7th from 7 -9 pm and Thursday, December 8th from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm with Rosary Prayers at 8:30 pm on Thursday. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary of the Visitation Parish on Friday, December 9th, 2016 at 11 am. In memory of Bill, memorial donations may be made to St. Mary of the Visitation Parish Building Fund.
