Gwendolen Hilliard April 27, 1922 – February 21, 2017 With sadness we are announcing the passing of Gwendolen (Gwen) Hilliard at Raglan Village in Collingwood on Tuesday February 21, 2017 surrounded by the love of her family. Gwen was predeceased by her husband, A N E (Bill) Hilliard who passed away in 1992. She is survived by her son Nigel and his wife Donna and their two daughters, Mary Alexandra Killackey (Jamie) and Heather Hilliard as well as two great grandchildren Kaitlyn and Myles. Gwen was born in Mitcham Surrey in the UK on April 27, 1922 and after the war she and her husband and son immigrated to Canada where they lived in the west end of Toronto. She had a great life with Bill and together they enjoyed their cottage, boating, winters in Florida and extensive travel. For the past seven years she has lived in retired homes, initially in Aurora and most recently in Collingwood, where her son and daughter in law reside. As per Gwen’s wishes cremation has taken place and in the spring her ashes will be placed alongside those of her husband in Sanctuary Park Cemetery in Weston, ON. If desired, donations can be made to the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital, where in the last weeks of her life she received excellent care.
