Frieday, Bruce Martin (December 7,1930) Bruce passed away peacefully just shy of his 86th birthday Saturday December 3, 2016 at Grand River Hospital. Beloved husband of Marian just short of 39 years. Dear brother of Shirley, Elaine, Ron and Joanne. Cherished father of Dave (Janis), Sue (Paul), Rick (Gayle), Pat (Roger), Janet (Rob) Cindy and Patti(Rob).- Grandfather to Shannon, Chris, Trevor, Celine, Brandon, Jed, Nikki, Kelly, Levon, Faith, Kaitlyn and Samantha. Great-grandfather to Kiara, Bethany, Autumn, Evan, Zoey, Holly and Emily. Predeceased by his brother Donald, daughter Lynn, grandson Dustin, great-grandchild Baby Dean and first wife Edna (1976). Bruce had a 40 plus year career in the electrical industry. Firstly as a Master Electrician then worked his way up as a foreman and was a manager and estimator/project manager. He was well respected by his peers and was a member of IBEW Local 804. Outside of his career Bruce was not only an expert woodworker and cabinet maker, he could build or repair almost anything. If you broke it he could fix it! A lot of these skills were passed on to Bruce from his father before him. Many family members and friends benefited from Bruce's expertise and generosity. Bruce was able to live his retirement dream of winters in Venice, Florida and summers at the cottage on Livingston Lake, near Algonquin Park for 28 years with his loving wife Marian. He will be sadly missed but never forgotten by many. Bruce's family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 from 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, ON N2B 2A5, 519-749-8467. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Blessed Sacrament RC Church,305 Laurentian Dr., Kitchener, ON on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. Interment at Woodland Cemetery, followed by a reception at the funeral home. A special thanks to the 6th floor staff at Grand River Hospital for their compassionate care during Bruce's final days. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre or Canadian Blood Clinic would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home). Also please consider becoming a blood donor. The generosity of blood donors enabled us to have Bruce for some extra cherished time. Visit www.henrywalser.com for Bruce's memorial.
