Ronald Brandt Obituary

Brandt, Ronald A long-time resident of Kitchener, died Thursday, January 19th at St. Mary's Hospital. Born February 29, 1928 in Kitchener, Ronnie married his beautiful bride, Reta, and proudly raised their 2 sons, Dale and Scott. His trucking career, working for both Overland and Weston's Bakery, allowed him to take care of his family which was his #1 goal. Ronnie enjoyed hunting, playing cards, going to the cottage, watching the Ranger games and walking with his friends. But most important to him was the time spent with his family. Whether it was playing a rousing game of crokinole with his 2 grandchildren, Samantha and Robert as their proud Buba, helping Scott and Claude with cottage renos or losing a game of euchre with Dale against Reta and Carol, the main thing was he was with his family. With the heaviest heart, Ron said goodbye to his love, Reta in April, after 58 years of marriage. But today, he is truly happy being reunited with his girl once again. He is survived by his son Dale and wife Carol, son Scott and partner Claude and his two grandchildren Samantha and Robert. Thanks to Fergus House for his home away from home. A warm thanks to St. Mary's Hospital for supporting Ronnie throughout his health challenges. And a very special hug to Scott and Claude for Buba's care over the last year. In memory of Ronnie's love for jokes, we honour him with 'Buba's Top 10 One Liners'.... I must being playing against 3 people! I don't know what you put in that food but... Buba do...Buba do... Do you got a cold beer for me? Don't burn the water. Bush sitter! More crooked than a dog's hind leg. I'm not saying your fish wasn't big but... If I don't see you in the spring, I'll see you in the mattress. When you gotta go, you gotta go. Private cremation has taken place. A private interment will take place with immediate family. Family and friends are invited to stop by The Royal Canadian Legion, 524 Belmont Ave. West, Kitchener between 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2017 for an opportunity to share laughs, stories and celebrate Ronnie's life.
