Stemmler, Shirley (Burkholder); Surrounded by the love of her family, Shirley passed away at Lisaard House on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at the age of 84. Beloved wife of the late Ken Stemmler (October 6, 2016). Loving mother of Gary (Debbie) Burkholder, Guy (Julie) Burkholder, and Glen Burkholder. Stepmother of Gary (Wendy) Stemmler and Randy (Gloria) Stemmler. Nana Shirley will be fondly remembered by Stephen (Angie) Burkholder, Ryan Burkholder, Andrea (Mike) Thornton, Lyndsay (Patrick) O'Halloran, Michael Burkholder, Justin (Ashwini) Burkholder, Matthew (Kendra) Burkholder, Madelynn Burkholder, Hannah Burkholder; Grandma to Bridget (Todd) Schneider, Dave (Karen) Stemmler, Chrissy (Glen) Payne, Katelyn Stemmler (J.D.Moore). Missed by her 14 great grandchildren. Survived by her brother Norman Cooke (Ellen) and her many nephews and nieces. Fondly remembered also by Stu Burkholder, the extended Burkholder, Cooke and Stemmler families. Predeceased by her parents, Frank and Florence Cooke. The family would like to express their heartfelt thank you to her special friend Margo,CCAC and the staff at Lisaard House for the care given to Shirley. She was a faithful member of St. Mark's RC Church. Shirley's family will receive relatives and friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener on Sunday, December 11, 2016 from 11 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. with the service to follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
