Rev. J. Allan Logan Obituary

It is with sadness his family announce the sudden passing of Rev. J. Allan Logan on Dec. 31, 2016 at Trillium Hospital Mississauga, age 89 years. Beloved husband of Janet (McDermott) and loving father of Jennifer (Fred) Flaxman and Doug (predeceased 1976). Devoted grandfather to Logan, Michelle and Thomas Flaxman. He was the son of John and Florence Logan of Mount Hope, Ont. and was one of 6 brothers Malcolm, Roy, Robert, Glenn, and Murray. He will be forever remembered as a caring brother, special uncle and dear friend to many. Allan served as a United Church Minister for 40 years in both Alberta (Munson), and Ontario (Jarvis, Aylmer, Windsor and Toronto-Etobicoke/Weston). His many congregations and friends will always treasure his years of faithful ministry. He was very active in Rotary International and devoted his time and talents for many years to the Student Exchange program and the Rotary auction. His favourite place of worship was the Lake of Bays church near our family cottage where he spent his summers. He enjoyed an active retirement as a wedding chaplain for the Old Mill and Applewood where he delighted in getting to know the couples personally. A memorial service for the immediate family and close friends will be held at St. Stephens on the Hill, 998 Indian Rd, Mississauga on Saturday January 7, 2017 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Central United Church, 1 King Str., Weston, M9N1K8 or the United Church of Canada.
