In Loving Memory of Norman Pauli Kaleva Terävä Born September 8th, 1937, passed away January 11th, 2017 With deep sadness we announce his sudden passing at the age of 79. Only child of Reino Terävä and Helmi (Reponen) Terävä both predeceased. Loving partner of 34 years of Barbara Zaitz and missed by his canine buddy, Millie. Survived by his son Ralph, son Stanley Terävä (wife Linda), grandson Matthew Luoma (wife Natalie) and great grandson Hudson Luoma. Predeceased by his daughter Susan. Born in Thunder Bay, ON he moved to Sudbury as a youngster. Norm was employed with INCO for a brief time then became a Correctional Officer at Burwash Industrial Farm, then a Constable with the Copper Cliff Police and finally a Sergeant with the Sudbury Regional Police. After retirement Norm owned and operated Hanmer Auto Sales until he sold the business. Norm resided in Skead on the shores of Lake Wahnapitei, where he enjoyed sledding and was an avid fisherman. He counted the days until he could go fishing with his pals at his trailer up at Ramsey. Norm was a member of the Nickel Belt Snow Spirits, Skead Senior Citizen’s Club, Skead Recreation Centre and the Retired Police Association. A Memorial Service will be held at the Skead Community Centre, 3971 Skead Road, Skead ON Saturday, January 14th, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. Cremation with entombment in the Civic Mausoleum (Friends may gather at the Skead Community Center after 10:30 A.M. Saturday) Donations to the SPCA, Pet Save or the Skead Funeral Fund would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home.
