Jean "Jeanne" Randle Woodstock, Ontario Obituary

Jean "Jeanne" Randle

RANDLE, Jeanne Bernice - Dec 15, 1927 - Jan 18, 2017 As she would have wanted, Mum passed away quietly and peacefully in the comfort of her home. Born Jeanne Bernice Gauld in Edmonton, Mum met the fair haired man of her dreams, Jack Randle at the University of Alberta. Soon after their wedding in September of 1948, they moved to Montreal, where they raised 5 children. Missing her are her children: Barbara Randle, Beth Taylor (Don), John Randle (Renée), Carole Randle (Grant), and daughter in law Hilary Armstrong (Ellen). Jeanne has 11 grandchildren (and their families) and 9 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her daughter Kathy. In life, Mum was a force of nature. She was a teacher, a chief librarian, a political activist, a fierce defender of social rights, and a feminist long before there were feminists. Mum could chat up anyone and made friends easily. A celebration of Mum’s life will take place at Sally Creek Bistro, 190 Fairway Road, Woodstock on Saturday January 28, 2017 from 2-4pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Kathryn Jeanne Randle Fund at the Cancer Research Society or to Ingamo Homes Woodstock. Arrangements entrusted to the Brock & Visser Funeral Home, 519-539-0004. Personal condolences may be sent at www.brockandvisser.com
