Mrs. Frances “Fran” (McCoy) Nance of Newport Arkansas departed this life on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at the age of 86. She was born December 26, 1930 in Grubbs, Arkansas, the daughter of James Franklin McCoy and Gertrude (Noble) McCoy. Mrs. Nance worked at Grubbs School and White River PCA. She also ran 4 Sisters Dress Shop with her sisters. She was a member of Holden Avenue Church of Christ. Mrs. Nance loved gardening, sports and never missed her grandchildren’s ballgames. She was a life long fan of the Newport Greyhounds, where she also played basketball and was a graduate of the class of 1948. Mrs. Nance’s siblings meant the world to her. Her greatest joy was time spent with her family, children and grandchildren. Mrs. Nance was preceded in death by her husband, David Joshua Nance, Jr., her parents, Frank and Gertrude McCoy; and Pearl Watkins McCoy; one infant son, Marcus Franklin Nance, in 1953; one brother, Frank Sonny McCoy; two sisters, Helen McCoy and Loudean McCoy Bullard. She is survived by three daughters, Kathy Nance Cloud of Newport, Karen Nance Clay of Newport, Sherri Nance Shelby, and husband, David of Bartlett, TN; two brothers, James McCoy, and wife, June of California and Ronnie McCoy, and wife, Jan of Texas; two sisters, Madge McCoy Bullard of Newport and Mary McCoy McKee of Newport; six grandchildren, Danny Ryan Cloud, and wife, Tiffannie, Julie Frances Stoker Roberson, and husband Jason; Jana Elizabeth Stoker Bius, and husband Jason, David Rodney Cloud, and, Kori, Charli Shelby Gonder, and husband Morgan, and David Brayden Shelby; seven great grandchildren, Katelyn Kennedy Burt, Samuel David Jace Roberson, Stephen William Craft Roberson, Joshua Wade Wilson Roberson, Joshua Rook Buis, Raeleigh Grey Cloud, and August Miles Cloud; many beloved nieces and nephews; and special caregiver, niece Peggy McKee. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are, David Shelby, David Brayden Shelby, David Rodney Cloud, Danny Ryan Cloud, Jason Roberson, Jason Bius and Morgan Gonder. Honorary pallbearers are, Stan McKee, Hugh Bullard, Jerry Bullard, Steve McCoy, Pat McCoy, Matt McCoy, Ronnie McCoy, James McCoy, Danny Cloud, and Steve Stoker. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Eight Mile Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home Saturday 1:30-3:00 p.m.
