Mr. James Lee “Sonny” Hutchinson of Newport, Arkansas, departed this life on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at the age of 77. He was born February 17, 1939 in Newport, the son of Porter and Zelma (Rhodes) Hutchinson. Mr. Hutchinson was a 1957 graduate of Newport High School. He was a farmer, self-employed at Hutchinson Farms. Mr. Hutchinson enjoyed deer and duck hunting, playing cards at deer camp, and loved to dance. His greatest joy was the time spent with his family on the farm. Mr. Hutchinson was preceded in death by one brother, Virgil Hutchinson; two sisters, Ima Nell Doyle, and Carol Jean Wagner; and his parents. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Peggy (Williams) Hutchinson of Newport; one son, Darrin Hutchinson and wife, Bo, of Newport; one daughter, Sandra Dunn of Newport; one brother, Jerry Paul Hutchinson and wife, Betty, of Pitts; seven grandchildren, Natalie Jones and husband, Derek, James “Bubba” Hutchinson, Jr., John Lewis Hutchinson, and Kenny Hutchinson, Brandon King, Katie Baker and husband, Tyler, and Ashley Webb, all of Newport; five great-grandchildren, John Jax, Jake, Kyleigh, Jensen, and Tyson; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a lifetime of friends. Friends may visit at the funeral home Friday, 5:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Watson Cemetery. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Darrin Hutchinson, Bubba Hutchinson, John Lewis Hutchinson, Kenny Hutchinson, Gary Seymore, and Cat Sullins.
