Mrs. Mary Louise (Powell) Martin of Magness, Arkansas, 87, went to be with the Lord on November 11, 2016. She was born July 8, 1929 in Independence County, the daughter of Osre and Lillie (Crutchfield) Powell. Mrs. Martin was a homemaker, and a member of the Newark Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, especially quilting, cooking, and working in her garden. Mrs. Martin loved her community, and working for her community. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Tommy Wayne Martin; four brothers, Lewis, James, Virgil and Vernon Powell; and two sisters, Virda Smith and Virl Stroud. Mrs. Martin is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, T.W. Martin of Magness; a grandson, Jon Martin and wife, Cheryl, of Sulphur Rock; a granddaughter, Ryan McMahan of Mt. View; two sisters, Vulleen Moss of Magness, and Helen Boydston of Newark; one brother, Frank Powell of Indiana; and five great-grandchildren, A.J., Chris, and Alyssa Kay Konkler, and Caleb and Noah Martin. Friends may visit at the funeral home, Friday, 6:00-8:00 p.m.. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Newark Missionary Baptist Church with interment to follow in Blue Springs Cemetery. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are A.J. Konkler, Chris, Konkler, Richard Moss, Jerry Powell, Dennis Powell, and Billy Carlton.
