Mr. Paul Edmond Ray of Newport, Arkansas departed this life on Tuesday December 27, 2016, at the age of 82. He was born April 10, 1934, in the Gartland Community (Jackson County), the son of Tony Nathan and Esther Elizabeth (Kirkpatrick) Ray. Mr. Ray served in the United States Army 1955 to 1958, worked at the Newport Rice Mill and at the trailer factory at the air base. He loved playing the guitar, singing, going to yard sales and he loved everything and was a collector of everything. He was always happy in everything he did. Mr. Ray was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James Nathan Ray; and one sister Mildred Flowers. He is survived by his daughter, Beverly Helms and husband, Phillip, of Newport; one sister Dorothy Mae Cook, of Lake Font, Texas; several nieces and nephews.
