Mr. Richard Dalbert Smith of Tuckerman, Arkansas, departed this life on Saturday, December 24, 2016, at the age of 83. He was born September 30, 1933 the son of Ray Carl and Violet (Rich) Smith. He was married to Faye (Malone) Smith for 60 years. Mr. Smith graduated from Tuckerman High School in 1952 and then was a farmer most of his life for Smith Farms. He worked for Norandal as a security guard and later worked for the city of Tuckerman. His greatest joy was the time spent with his grandchildren. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Rickey Smith and Danny Smith; three brothers, Jerry Smith, Carl Smith and Sam Smith; three sisters, Mary Violet Smith, Hazel Ray Warren and Floy McKell. He is survived by his wife, Faye (Malone) Smith; one son, Jerry Smith,and wife, Melissa, of Tuckerman; daughers in laws, Cynthia Lane and Kathy Sharp Smith; six grandchildren, Shane Smith, Corey Smith, Courtney Smith, Michael Smith, Rickey Smith and Haley Smith; two great grandchildren, Cam Weaver and Spencer Smith;sister in law, Emma Nance of Monroe, LA; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Friends may visit at the funeral home Wednesday 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Services will be at the Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel 2:00 p.m. Thursday with interment in Gracelawn Cemetery. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Steve Sykes, Ryan Sykes, Ed Jarrett, Davie Penix, Joey Penix, Danny Allen and Mike Allen. Honorary pallbearers are David Penix, Bob Penix, Vernon Cantrell, J.H. Allen, Don Allen and Bill Matheny.
