Mary Margaret Trefren Johnson, 71, of Windsor, CO passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Tru Hospice of Northern Colorado. Mary was born on October 13, 1945 in Cheyenne, WY to Donald (Bill) Eugene and Ellen A. (Thomas) Trefren. Mary was raised in Cheyenne. On April 15, 2000, Mary married Altis Lee Johnson. Mary was a RN for Banner Health for 36 years. She started her career working in the birthing unit and oncology and then moved to the main operating room where she spent the last 30 years. Mary enjoyed taking care of injured and ill patients. Mary enjoyed spending her free time with her family, her grandkids were the light of her life. Mary is survived by her husband Altis Lee of Windsor; sons, Jonathan (Deneanne) Johnson, and Fred (Michelle) Johnson; daughter, Kelly (Nic) Kriger-Kunzman; step-sons, Mike (Julie) Johnson, and Greg (Kris) Johnson; step-daughter, Jennifer (Andrew) Holt; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Charles (Jan) Trefren; sisters, Alice (Bill) Karl, and Patricia (Kenneth) Westra; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and grandson, Corey James Johnson. Viewing will be on Friday, March 24, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a celebration of Mary’s life at 1:00 p.m., both at Windsor Timberline Church, 360 Crossroads Boulevard, Windsor, CO 80550.
