Peter Peruta Obituary

Peter Peruta, 88, husband of the late Rose M. (DiPasquale) Peruta, died on Monday, November 21, 2016 at Hartford Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Meriden on May 8, 1928, he was the son of the late Stephen and Saraphina Peruta. He was a lifelong Meriden resident and graduated from Meriden High School and Wilcox Technical School. Mr. Peruta retired from Pratt & Whitney with over thirty-five years of service. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served with the U.S. Army. He attended St. Rose of Lima Church. He was a member of the Meriden Rod & Gun Club, Bristol Fish & Game Club, and the Meriden Weightlifting Club where he won numerous body building and weightlifting titles. He is survived by one daughter, Cynthia Peruta of Meriden; one son, Donald Peruta, his wife Colleen of Southington and their three children, Tyler, Maximilian and Samuel; one brother, Daniel Peruta of Meriden and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, John and Freddy Peruta and two sisters, Olga Pavlick and Anna Peruta. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 10:30 am at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden. Burial with military honors will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, November 25th from 4 to 8 pm. Should friends desire, contributions in his memory may be made to Hartford Hospital Stroke Center, 80 Seymour Street, Hartford, CT 06106. A special thank you to the staff of Bliss 9-I, Bliss 5 East and the Palliative Team at Hartford Hospital for the loving care given to Peter.
