Joseph Greene Milford, Connecticut Obituary

Joseph Greene

While having fun on a long anticipated Asian vacation cruise, Joseph “Joe” Foster Greene succumbed to complications of a heart attack on November 14, 2016 in Bangkok, Thailand. Born in Bridgeport CT to the late Michael Greene and Sadie Greene, Joe was a lifelong resident of CT. Joe and his family owned Park City Foods in Stratford, CT and having acquired computer skills in the US Amy, an MBA from University of Bridgeport and a lifetime experience in the family business of Park City Foods Stratford, went on to found Distribution Management Systems, a company that wrote computer solutions for the food distribution industry. As president/CEO of DMS, Joe led and grew his company from 1979 until 2005 when he sold it to Advanced Food Systems (ASF Technologies). In business and in life Joe had the deepest respect for those he worked with and those he worked for. He had the kindest heart and welcomed all to the table. He was ceremonially cremated by Buddhist monks at a Bangkok Thailand temple and his ashes returned to his home in Stratford, Connecticut. He loved to brag about his son, Michael, who is a doctor and a genetic scientist working on curing cancer. He loved to watch his son Jonathan and the CT Yankee Rugby Football Club complete. Joe leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 48 years, Constance Castelli and their two sons Michael (wife Amy Romatzick) and Jonathan (wife Kristine Morgan). Joe leaves four grandchildren which he treasured with his whole heart, Nicole Brianne, Hazel, Sofia, and Evan.
