SCHIAVONI, Alexander B. entered eternal life on NOV 21, 2016 at age 93. He is survived by his loving wife, Muriel Cox Schiavoni, his sister, Jacqueline Illingworth of Jacksonville, his nieces Susan & Sandy Illingworth, nephew Ray McDonnell & wife Pauline and many other caring relatives in the U.S. and Ireland. Alex and beloved wife Muriel have lived in The Homes of Ponce De Leon, Indialantic for over 23 years. They have many supportive friends in their neighborhood as well as from their church at Holy Name of Jesus, where they have faithfully worshipped. Alex was born in NYC and raised in Holbrook on Long Island. He was a Navy veteran who served in World War II on convoys bringing much-needed supplies and equipment to England. After the war and honorable discharge from the Navy, Alex studied Art & particularly Calligraphy. He worked at Ames & Rollinson in New York, and later in the Social Entertainments Office of the White House. He served under Presidents Johnson, Nixon, Ford & Carter. Subsequently, Alex used those same skills working as an Illustrator at the Pentagon before retiring in 1986. During retirement, Alex and Muriel enjoyed travel, playing bridge, and chess. A memorial service will be held on JAN 14th, 10:30 A.M. at Holy Name of Jesus Church in Indialantic, Florida where he will rest in the Memorial Garden. Final arrangements and information will be available through Beachside Funeral Home.com. Alex will be missed by all who knew him and remembered as a kind, loving, and perfect gentleman.
