Katherine Milano Obituary

It is with great sorrow that I announce the passing of my mother an angel, Katherine Jean Bauer Milano on Thursday, December 29, 2016, at her home in Satellite Beach, Florida. The past couple of months were difficult for her because of COPD, but she kept a great attitude and refused to get discouraged. Katherine (Kay) was born on October 26, 1927 in Allentown, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Jennie Leigh Pike. She was the sister of James Edward Bauer who passed on October 30, 2016. She was married to Joseph Rocco Milano on January 6, 1943, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and he still resides at their home in Satellite Beach. They moved to New Jersey in 1946 where she worked as an office manager at Leon Machine & Engineering Co and later for Century Safety in Burlington, New Jersey. In 1986 they retired and moved to Satellite Beach, Florida. Mom loved their Florida life and had many talents such as sewing, knitting, crocheting but most of all she was a great cook and shared her many unwritten recipes with her granddaughters. Mom was a sweet, kind, considerate and loving person who was always willing to help anyone in need. She was enthusiastic about life and looked forward to taking full advantage of each new day. She is survived by her husband Joseph Rocco Milano and her daughter Louise Milano Berger of Satellite Beach, Florida. It was with great sadness that their beloved son Louis Edward Milano passed on November 12, 2008, in Collingswood, NJ. My mom loved and adored her granddaughters, Christine Berger Rapp of Reading, PA, Denise Marie Milano who sadly passed away in 1984, Tina Milano-Ouderkirk of Gladstone, ND, Cathi Milano Hart of Thermopolis, WY, Cindy Berger Zerbe of Reading, PA and Suzanne Berger Trigg of North Wales, PA. there are 10 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. There are many nieces and nephews scattered all over the country who will miss her kind and sweet giving nature. During her lifetime she was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Mom fully embraced those roles and was a natural at all of them. Kay’s family and friends will miss her deeply and we will forever remember her gentle, charming and innocent spirit. The arrangements have been handled by Beach Funeral Home in Satellite Beach, FL and are private.
