Aristhene Philistin Lauderdale Lakes, Florida Obituary

Aristhene Philistin

Aristhene Philistin was born March 7, 1919 in Anse-A-Veau, Haiti. His birth Mother, Marie Abdon who was a native Haitian had died during Aristhene’s earliest childhood years. His father, Aristin Philistin was an Israeli who decided shortly after Marie Abdon’s death to venture off to Cuba and relinquished custody of his son to Marie-Pierre Louis, a caretaker who eventually ended up adopting young Aristhene. Aristhene Philistin had a career as a salesman for Boucard & Company representing the Westinghouse Corporation in Haiti for quite a long time. He fathered 2 children with Macilia Cherry. Later he married his long-time wife Jisnette Clairval and together they raised their 5 children: Yves, Jacqueline, Yvette, Jean and Sergo. Once all of his children were grown and had constructed lives of their own he retired from his job in Haiti and began traveling back and forth between Haiti and the United States. He eventually became a resident of the US and took up jobs working in school cafeterias in Boston, MA as well as working in the postal industry for many years. He continued to travel between the US and Haiti for a long period of time always working along the way, always longing for his homeland. Aristhene enjoyed having money a great deal and had worked extremely hard throughout his life to make sure his family was well taken care of. Eventually he became a United States citizen and finally was able to retire as a United States citizen. He decided to take up residence with his loving daughter, Yvette Bagile and her son, Alain Bagile in Miami, FL. Aristhene was a special man that never worried about anything, never letting anything deter him or bother him. The type of man that loved to go to church oh Sundays even thou he partied on Saturdays. He was quoted saying that when he died he would want to be buried whole in his homeland of Haiti. His quote was, “I want to lay rest next to my wife in Haiti.” On Sunday, April 10th, 2016 his eyes closed for the very last time peacefully in bed. The Lord had called him home where he can finally be at peace.
