Edward Grandison Lauderdale Lakes, Florida Obituary

Edward Grandison

Edward Victor Grandison, (Eddie aka Jah Youth), passed away on January 26, 2016, in Lauderhill, Florida.  He was born on July 9, 1963, in Birmingham, England, to Alvin and Carvell Grandison.  Eddie was raised in a loving home and attended Aston Tower and Holte Comprehensive.  Eddie was a carefree spirit who was never afraid to try something new and resisted keeping still for too long.  Knowing his restless spirit, it was no surprise when Eddie journeyed to South Florida.  Although he left behind his immediate family, he was never truly alone.  Angela, a childhood friend from school in England, had family that knew and loved Eddie in Florida. While living in Florida, he was able to spend time with Angela’s oldest daughter, his goddaughter, Rachel.  Throughout the many years that Eddie resided in Florida, he predominately resided in Broward County. Broward County encompassed all that Eddie was…. It was home to his music, home to his friends, and the place where he met his soul mate and fiancée, Marcia.  All that truly knew Eddie, knew that behind his ‘mouth’ was a prideful, loving, giving and protective person.  Eddie was the type of person to give his last even if it meant him going without. He was a musician.  We all knew that music was his passion, and he always played it the ‘proper’ way; on a vinyl – no other way! His sound, “Jah Youth”, performed alongside others every second Sunday at the Central Broward Regional Park. Eddie was a legend in his time and it was revealed through his music and the many lives he touched. During these grieving times, it is important to remember that Goodbyes are not forever, Goodbyes are not the end; they simply mean I’ll miss you, until we meet again. He is survived by his daughter: Sophie; grandchildren: Taysharn and Roman; brother: Edmund; sisters: Yvonne, Maxine and Saine; nephews: Neville, Christopher, Le’Troy and Kyrese; nieces: Shinese and Danielle; great-niece: Sienna; fiancée: Marcia; godchildren: Marcus, Ewell, Rachel, Adrian and Leona; best friends: Dennis and Angela; and a host of other family and friends.    Rest in Peace, Jah Youth!
