George Hannibal Obituary

On October 5, 2015 George A. Hannibal, Jr. BKA “G” the oldest son of Sonya Lovette-Hannibal and George A. Hannibal, Sr. transitioned from time into eternity. George was born April 25, 1966 at the Navy hospital in Key West, Florida. He spent most of his childhood with his Aunt and Uncle, Mr. & Mrs. Cooper, traveling in the U.S. military as a “military brat”. At age 16, George was happily reunited with his mother and two siblings in Washington D.C. There he attended Ballou High School where he was very active in basketball and arts and crafts. George was extremely sociable and known for his style and sense of humor. He was very easy going, willing to help others and had a way with befriending people quickly. George changed a lot of lives and was always able to put a smile on everyone's face. He helped start the music genre for the younger generation in Key West, including the beats and studio availability. George dedicated much time and heart towards helping the young men in the neighborhood achieve their goals and dreams. He had a vision and a dream that help put the city of Key West on the map, and it continues on to this day! George, a man of many talents, including a barber to many young souls in the neighborhood. A silent soldier at heart, yet will quickly put you in check whenever needed. Yes, a motivator, encourager, a bad b-baller with a smooth game for a big dude. There will never be another “G” money. He will be truly missed by many. George leaves to cherish his precious memories: his mother Sonya Lovette-Hannibal (Ft. Lauderdale, FL); his father, George A. Hannibal, Sr. (Miami, FL); one sister, Monique Hannibal-Bernard (Sampson Bernard), (Key West, FL), one brother, Oliver Page (Dover, Delaware); four aunts, Edriena Cooper (New Orleads, LA) Bernadine Lovette (Miami, FL), Anita Johnson (Ft. Lauderdale, FL), Hortense Hannibal-Farley (Washington D.C.); three uncles, Edward Lovette (Los Angeles, CA), Vernon Lovette (Miami, FL) Leslie Williams (Wisconsin) eight nieces, eight nephews and a host of beloved cousins, family and friends who he loved dearly.
