A TIME TO BE BORN: On January 6, 1941 Hattie Mae Rose affectionately known as “Ms. Hattie” was born to the proud parents of the late Samuel Rose and Ophelia Rose in Turberville, South Carolina. A TIME TO BE EDUCATED: In the early 1960’s Hattie came to Fort Lauderdale, Florida after graduating from Walker Gamble High School in South Carolina. In 1988 she traveled back to South Carolina to care for her mother. It was in 1998 the Rose family relocated to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida permanently. A TIME TO KNOW GOD: At a very young age Hattie learned about God's unconditional Love. Throughout the years she attended service faithfully, Hattie continued to attend as often as her health would allow. A TIME TO WORK: She was employed with Broward County School Board where she retired after 25 years of service. After retiring she enjoyed life even more, she never allowed her health issues to hinder her from doing things she loved the most. A TIME TO LOVE: Hattie had two children she loved dearly Yvette & Rodney which she shared a special bond. Hattie supported her children and grandchildren to the fullest; she devoted a lot of her time with love for her family and friends. She will be greatly missed. A TIME TO MOURN: On Saturday morning June 4, 2016 God dispatched his angels to bring Hattie home. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother (Roger Rose), sister (Ethel Mae Rose), daughter (Yvette Williams) granddaughter (Kcyaerae White) and grandson (Rodney Gavin Burrows). She leaves to cherish her memory a loving son Rodney Burrows (Tamara); three brothers: Bobby Player, Jerome Player and Clifford Statley; twelve grandchildren: Brittany, Nycholaes, Eric, Michael, Matthew, Shawn, Christopher, Andre, Katera, Tariya, and Khalil; two great-grandchildren: Kayden and Teagan; also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss her dearly.
