Thurman Hayes Obituary

Bishop Thurman Hayes Sr. was born August 24th 1946 in Barnwell, South Carolina to the late Freddie Hayes and Mother Arrie Bell Hayes. The Hayes family later relocated to Carver Ranches, FL where Thurman went to school and worked in the fields alongside his mother. In 1969 at the age of 23 he was called into ministry after being baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. He began teaching and ministering the Word of God under the leadership of the late Evangelist Victor Phillips and Bishop L. Hunter. Throughout his ministry he traveled and fellowshipped with many leaders and servants of Christ. It was during that time when he met and married his wife Evelyn on February 22, 1978. He continued to teach and preach the gospel in many places, touching many hearts. His last assignment as a faithful servant was pastor of True Faith Apostolic Worship Center in Dania Beach, Florida. Bishop Hayes enjoyed fishing, and lecturing on the Holy Bible. He was well loved and respected by many people. He was a giver, always willing to help those who were in need. In addition to his parents Bishop Hayes was predeceased by: his beloved sons, Darren and Otis Hayes, whom both passed away in 2003. Three sisters, Rosa Lee Johnson, Jannie Ree Nelson, and Ruth Thelma Nelson.
