Willie Shennette Obituary

Willie Lee Shennett was affectionately known by many as “KNOT.” He was born in Hawkinsville, Georgia on June 12, 1947 to the late parents, Sam and Lillie Brown Shennett. At an early age Willie accepted Christ as his Savior. Willie graduated from Bozeman High School in 1967 in Hawkinsville, Georgia. Willie relocated to Fort Lauderdale, Florida after graduation and was employed with Avis Rental Car for 28 years and Hertz Rental Car for 5 years. He retired in 1999. Willie met Jessie Shennett who was the love of his life in 1967 and was united as one on June 14, 1971. “KNOT” was an avid race car owner and loved to watch the race car shows each and every day. On October 7, 2016 “KNOT” answered the Lord’s call to finish the race to heaven. Willie leaves to celebrate his life, a loving, caring and devoted wife for 45 years Jessie Shennett. Three sisters, Sara Brelove of Eastman, Georgia, Lillie Shennett and Fannie Battle of Hawkinsville, Georgia; One sister in law Selena Miller (Anthony) Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Three brothers, Sam Shennett of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Henry Shennett of Hawkinsville, Georgia and Archie Shennett of Cochran, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. May his soul rest in peace!
