William Sutler

William Lee “Bill” Sutler, 84, of Allentown Florida, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2016. Bill was born in Stanton, Virginia, where he grew up with his mother and two sisters. At seventeen, he joined the Navy and retired after 26 years of service, as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. After retirement, Bill remained an active member of the community, working for the state agriculture department and attending Pineview Methodist Church. Bill enjoyed spending time with his family and will be remembered as a smart, caring, and generous person. One of his favorite past times was sitting on the porch enjoying time with his family and his dog Spartacus. He is preceded in death by his mother, father and sister. Bill is survived by his wife, Shirley “Colleen” Sutler; three sons, William Jr. “Billy” and Virginia Sutler, Michael & Cheryl Sutler, and Robert “Bobby” and Diane Sutler; six grandchildren, Penny, Jennifer, Emily, Emmett, and Caleb Sutler, and Amanda Bell; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton, Florida. Visitation will be held 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow services in Walling Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randy, Jimmy, Matt, and B.J Holland, Kevin Hatfield, and Caleb Sutler. The Sutler family lost a strong and shining light in their lives but they have gained an angel to watch over them in Heaven.
