William Carlton Harrison, 93 of Gainesville passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the E.T. York Haven Hospice House. William was born in Baltimore, Maryland on July 24, 1923 and served in the United States Navy during WWII and the Korean War. After his discharge from the Navy he continued working for the Government for 37 years as an Equipment/Tool Specialist and upon his retirement he moved to Florida. William was preceded in death by his wife Betty White Harrison and their son , William Clifford Harrison; and his wives, Marjorie Stillwagon Harrison and Stella Colomitz Harrison. He is survived by his son Michael (Peggy) Harrison, Gainesville, and daughters Patricia (Skip) Colborn, Mill Run, PA and Julie (Robert) Graddy, Gainesville. Grandchildren Sabrina, Johnny, Logan, Nate, Sarah and Lauren, along with 10 Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother Robert Harrison, Federalsburg, MD and sisters, Joan Young, Ferndale, MD and Jacqueline Meade, Midway Park, NC. A memorial service to celebrate William’s life will be held on September 30, 2016 at 11:00am in the E.T. York Haven Hospice House Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Haven Hospice.
