Ronald Koonce

Ronald K. Koonce, 79, of Palatka, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Northeast Florida Community Hospice Bailey Center for Caring in St. Augustine following an extended illness. He was a native of Jacksonville, moved to Putnam County in the late 1960’s and had worked in the truck driving industry. He enjoyed playing golf and was an avid fisherman. Ronald was also an avid fan of the Florida Gators and Miami Dolphins. He is preceded in death by his wife, Irene Koonce, parents, Eugene and Mary Koonce, and brothers, John and Robert Koonce. He is survived by his children, Jackie Perkins, Jocelyn Overmier (John), Norma Lusk (B.J.), Warren Powell, III (Kim), brother, Reginald “Reggie” Koonce (Cathy), as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel with Rev. Leroy Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Palatka Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of services.
