Bernard M. Martin 89, of Renaissance, Manchester died Sunday, October 10, at Green Acres Manor Nursing Home, Toms River. He was a co-owner and an Engineer at Slingman Industries, Somerset for over 30 years before retiring in 1991. He was a pilot serving in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was an avid golfer and pool player. Born in Newark, he lived there and in Pt. Pleasant Beach before moving to Manchester nine years ago. Surviving is his loving wife of 50 years, Joan Laverty Martin, a daughter, Debra Nacht of Colts Neck, a son, John Whalen of Pt. Pleasant, 2 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Memorial Mass is Sunday October 17th at 2 pm at Cathedral of the Air Route 547 Lakehurst.
