S. William (“Bill”) Pattis, age 91, of Rancho Mirage, CA, formerly of Highland Park, IL; passed away on February 20, 2017. Bill spent more than 70 years in the publishing industry, owning The Pattis Group, National Textbook Company and P-B Communications; loving husband for over 66 years of Bette, nee Levin; beloved father of Mark (Lisa) Pattis and Robin (Roger) Himovitz; adored grandfather of Rachael (Spencer) Kallick, Benjamin, Jake and Eli Himovitz, Madeleine Pattis, Rebecca and Sam Reategui; devoted son of the late William Robert and Rose Pattis; cherished brother of the late Robert (Lorraine) Pattis, treasured uncle of Wendy Pattis, Ron (Blanche) Pattis, Andrea Goodman, Mara (Shawn) Gargagliano and Jill (George) Oberhofer. Service Sunday, February 26th, 1:30 p.m., at Am Shalom, 840 Vernon Avenue, Glencoe, Illinois. Interment Shalom Memorial Park.
