Alice Dailey Obituary

Alice L. Dailey, 91, formerly of Murphysboro, passed away at her home in Herrin at 7:15 a.m. Friday, November 11, 2016. Alice was born on November 8, 1925, in Jackson County, Illinois, to Irvin Edward Bardmess and Pauline (Porter) Bardmess. She was a great mother! She loved to go fishing, and she used to quilt and embroidery. Alice had worked as a seamstress at the former Calcrest Outerware Factory in Murphysboro. Mrs. Dailey was a member of the Lone Oak Baptist Church in Energy. She is survived by six children, Karen Bush and her special friend Bill Williford, both of Herrin, Vicky Evans and her husband Fred Evans of Murphysboro, Mike Dailey of Elkville, Dennis Dailey of Murphysboro, Kevin Dailey and his wife Bena Sue Dailey of Jacob, and Kim Varnum and her husband Matt Varnum of Ava; nineteen grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren and twenty great great grandchildren; and one sister Myrtle Jones of Forrest City, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by one son Wayne Dailey, two grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two brothers Claude Allen and Edward Bardmess, five sisters Goldie Hulvey, Edith Kampfer, Mary Ellen Bardmess, Edna McFarland, and Melva Hopkins, and her parents. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at Pettett Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Neace officiating and burial at Tower Grove Cemetery.
