Carol Mae Varnum, 55, of Murphysboro, passed away at 5:45 p.m. Sunday, December 11, 2016, at her residence in Murphysboro. Carol was born on July 18, 1961, in Chicago, Illinois, to Gilbert Warren and Phyllis (Jennings) Levi. She had worked at Penn Aluminum until she was disabled. Carol is survived by one daughter Kailey James of Murphysboro; one granddaughter Emma Taylor of Murphysboro; her care giver Jessica Clover of Murphysboro; two brothers Shawn Levi of Denver, CO and Richard Warren of Herrin; one sister Vicki Robertson of Royalton; and nieces and nephews Angela Roundtree, Taffy, Samantha Levi, Aden Levi, and Sean Warren. She was preceded in death by one grandson Jordyn James and her twin sister Cheryl Baseden. Her body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 15, 2016, at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Raglin officiating.
