Otis G. Wyatt, 66, of Murphysboro, passed away at 12 p.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at his residence in Murphysboro. Otis was born on April 11, 1950, in Murphysboro, Illinois, to Clarence "Bo" Wyatt, Jr. and Alice Rose (Robinson) Wyatt. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict and was stationed in Germany. Mr. Wyatt was a brick mason and was a member of the Laborer's Local # 318. Otis loved making things for people and working on his Bronco. He liked to go to Hardees and he loved to help some of the people, that he had met there. But he especially loved to talk about the Lord. He and Mary were married on September 15, 1994, in Paducah, Kentucky, and she survives in Murphysboro. Other survivors include two sons B. J. Wyatt and Melody of Murphysboro and Randall Wyatt of Gorham; two step son William Simon of Murphysboro and Michael Simon of Carbondale; four grandchildren Haley Wyatt, Owen Wyatt, Chance Simon and Kenedi Simon, all of Murphysboro; one great grandson Bentley Wiedman, of Murphysboro; four brothers and four sisters Joseph Wyatt of Granite City, IL, Joyce Fields, Mary Casey, and Tillie Nance, all of Murphysboro, Buddy Wyatt of Granite City, Irene Davenport and Dennis Wyatt, both of Murphysboro, and Russell Wyatt and his wife Sherry Wyatt of DuQuoin; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by one brother Raymond Wyatt, one sister Laura Jaye Wyatt, and one sister in infancy Virginia Rose Wyatt, two nieces Amy Johnson and Johanna Casey, and three great nephews Draven Thorne, Ryan Reed, and Bradley Taylor. His body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at Pettett Funeral Home with Rev. Rick McNeely officiating and burial at Dillinger Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the HSHS Hospice of Southern Illinois at the funeral home.
