Randell Van Hoy Obituary

Randell Ivan Van Hoy, 74, formerly of Murphysboro, passed away at 1:45 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2016, at the Rehab and Care Center in Marion, Illinois. Randell was born on December 25, 1942, in Jackson County, Illinois, to Linden Van Hoy and Helen (McBride) Van Hoy. He had worked as a laborer in construction and had worked as a kitchen helper in area restaurants. Randell liked to pick up cans and helped people by working as a handyman. Mr. Van Hoy had been a member of the Ava Missionary Baptist Church in Ava. He is survived by one brother and sister in law Harold and Lucille Van Hoy of Red Bud; two sisters Darlene Stuart of Marion and Ruth Ann Van Hoy of Murphysboro; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, three brothers, and his parents. Gravesite services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at Ava Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Raymond Ketteman officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Pettett Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
