Maryan A. Stevens, 98, of Decatur, Indiana, died Monday, November 28, 2016 at Adams Woodcrest. Maryan was born on September 8, 1918 in Adams County, IN to the late Everett and Almeda (Stevens) Ferry. On June 29, 1947 she married Joseph J. Stevens; he preceded her in death on January 12, 1994. She worked as a lifelong homemaker and farmer. Maryan is survived by a daughter, Phillis A. (Jim) Eiting of Decatur; 2 grandchildren, Rodney Bieberich of Cleveland, OH and Sandy (Rodney) Simpson of Decatur; 2 step grandchildren, Jimmy Eiting of Ft. Wayne and Debbie (Jeff) Bickel of Auburn; 4 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. She was also preceded by a daughter, Darlene Becher and a brother, Virgil Ferry. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 1, 2016 also at the funeral home, with Pastor Dan York officiating. Burial will take place in Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Riley Children’s Hospital or the Adams County Animal Shelter.
