WASHINGTON — Virginia Madge Mallett, 93, formerly of Plainville, died at 11 p.m. Wednesday at Washington Nursing Center. Born April 10, 1918, in Daviess County, she was the daughter of Martin Baldwin and Blanche Christy Mallett. A 1936 graduate of Plainville High School, she was a retired stenographer for Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane. She was a member of Parkview Christian Church and Plainvile Eastern Star. She is survived by nieces and their husbands, Karen and Terry Lucarelli of Jacksonville, Fla., Linda O’Neal of Hilton Head, S.C., Catherine and Ray Beeker of Bloomington, and Jo Ellen and Paul Chuberka of Murrieta, Calif. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Janet Mallett and Modene Mallett; brothers, Ralph and John Mallett; and a niece, Beverly Appell. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday,January 31st at Parkview Christian Church, with Bro. Alfred Helms. Burial will be in Plainville Cemetery at a later date. Visitation is after 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Arrangements are being made through Gill Chapel. Condolences may be made to the family online at
