Josh W. Witte

Joshua “Josh” William Witte passed away on November 23, 2016 in Orange Park, FL. He was born on May 24, 1984 in Storm Lake, IA. He was the son of Larry (Karen) Witte and Cindy (Doug) Cannon.<br><br>Josh grew up in Ringsted, IA graduating from Armstrong-Ringsted High School in 2002. While in school, he enjoyed playing basketball and socializing with friends, giving him his nickname “Goof”. After graduation, he attended Grandview College in Des Moines, IA and Mankato State University in Mankato, MN majoring in graphic design. He was united in marriage to Elaine Colon on March 7, 2015 and their daughter, Jocelyn, was born June 12, 2013. Josh, a skilled carpenter, enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing corn hole, cooking, boating, and working on home projects. He was known for his unique sense of style and contagious laugh and smile. He was known by all his friends as the life of the party! Josh became a skilled welder and devoted his life to working in various factory positions, including the last three years at Caterpillar and most recently at Myers-Seth Pumps. Josh was a member of United Lutheran Church in Ringsted, IA and First Baptist Church of Orange Park.<br><br>Josh was preceded in death by grandmothers, Wanda Finnestad and Mary Ballantyne, grandfathers, William “Bill” Finnestad and William “Bill” Witte and father in law, Jose Colon.<br><br>Left to cherish Josh’s memory are his wife, Elaine Witte; daughter, Jocelyn Witte; parents, Larry (Karen) Witte and Cindy (Doug) Cannon; mother-in-law, Carmen Colon; brothers, Jeremy Witte, Dallas (Traci) Maday and Tyler Cannon; sisters, Ciara (Andrew) Johnson and Kelsey Cannon; grandfather, Howard ‘Bunky’ Ballantyne; grandmother, Dee Truman and her husband, Larry; nephews, Lucas and Lathan Champion; nieces, Marree Witte, Nevaeh Johnson and Augustine Johnson; sister-in-law, Elissa (Josh) Champion and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.<br>
