Susanna Fleming

Susanna Fleming, 85, of La Cygne, Kansas died on Friday, July 1, 2016 at Life Care Center of Osawatomie. Susanna was born September 8, 1930 in Amoret, MO to Earl Edward and Nellie Mae (Bishop) Fleming. Susanna graduated from Fort Scott Community College and worked for several years as a Licensed Practical Nurse in area nursing homes. Susanna was a member of the La Cygne Senior Citizens, Over 50 Club, and the La Cygne Christian Church. She was an outdoor person who enjoyed her flowers and garden. She was devoted to her family and especially enjoyed spending time at Roaring River trout fishing with her nephews. Susanna was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Bill Fleming and Jim Fleming; sister-in-law Jewel Fleming; brother-in-law Fred Bland; niece Julie Fleming; and nephew Billy Fleming. Survivors include three brothers, Edward Fleming, Joe Fleming and wife Vicky, Wilbur Fleming and wife Dee; three sisters, Bonnie Bland, Jessie Russell, and Hazel Robbins and husband Kenny; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at La Cygne Christian Church. A funeral service for Susanna will follow at 11:00 am. Burial will take place in Benjamin Cemetery, Amoret, MO. The family suggests memorials to La Cygne Christian Church or Over 50 Club.
