Funeral services for Bradley D. Hamblin, 71, Leawood Drive, Frankfort, will be held Monday 1 p.m. at Crestwood Baptist Church. Rev. Wallace Kent and Rev. Don Dilday will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Hamblin died unexpectedly Wednesday at Frankfort Regional Medical Center emergency room. A native of Perry County, he was a civil engineer with the Transportation Cabinet, Ky State Government. He attended Buckhorn School, Cumberland College and the University of KY. He was a Army veteran, member of Crestwood Baptist Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir. He was a deacon and Sunday School Director, and member of east Frankfort Kiwanis Club.
He was the son of the Green and Edna Jones Hamblin. Survivors include his wife, Julia C. Hamblin, Frankfort; daughter, Julia Hamblin (Greg) Moore, Frankfort; two sons, Dale (Dena) Hamblin, Frankfort and Doug (Kim) Hamblin, Henderson,Ky; sister, Kay Norman, Pensacola, FL; four brothers, Bruce Hamblin, Ohio, Baxter Hamblin, Seymore, IN, Gayle Hamblin, Pensacola, FL, and Warren Hamblin, Ohio; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Hamblin, Austin Farmer, Darren Moore, Drew Dilday, Gary Culbertson, Chad Lee. Honorary bearers will be Deacons of Crestwood Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held Sunday 2-6 p.m. at LeCompte-Johnson-Taylor Funeral Home and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Crestwood Baptist Church on Monday.
Flowers are welcome; however, expressions of sympathy may be made to Crestwood Baptist Church in memory of Bradley Hamblin.
