Clayton G. Wagner, 88, a longtime resident of Livermore Falls, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, February 8th at his home. He was born May 25, 1928 in Livermore Falls, the son of William Lloyd Wagner and Beulah (Ramey) Wagner. He was a 1946 graduate of Livermore Falls High School. Following graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served from 1946 through 1948. On May 27, 1950 at the Baptist Church of Livermore Falls he married Margaret Scarci. Clayton enrolled at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Boston Campus, where he received his pharmacist degree. He and Margaret returned to Maine, and made their home in Dexter where he was employed. They later returned to Livermore Falls. In 1955, he and his brother Russell purchased Ham’s Drug Store in Livermore Falls from J.C. Ham. They ran the store for thirty years before selling it to Wellby’s Drug Store in 1985, where they continued working until they retired. Clayton was a member of the Eaton Memorial Methodist Church in Livermore Falls. Clayton and Margaret were very involved and dedicated to their community, always willing to lend a helping hand whenever needed. He enjoyed watching the Patriots and was very excited about the results of Super Bowl #51. “Go Pats”! He is survived by his daughter, Susan Wagner of Livermore Falls, Maine; his son, Mark Wagner and his wife Bonita of Greenville, South Carolina; three grandchildren, Adam Hathaway, Griffen and Rileigh Wagner, great-grandson, Noah Hathaway, his sister, Myra Bailey of Livermore Falls; his sister-in-law, Kay Wagner of Gorham and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret Wagner, brothers, Maurice, Russell and Robie Wagner, brother-in-law, Nelson Bailey and sisters-in-law, Pat and Gloria Wagner.
