Andrew Cram Millinocket, Maine Obituary

Andrew Cram

Medway – Andrew Lowell Cram, 57, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 5, 2016. He was born April 13, 1959 in Millinocket to Carl O. and Viola (Davis) Cram, the youngest of four sons. He attended grade school in Medway and graduated from Schenck High School in East Millinocket, where he was a member of the varsity basketball and baseball teams. For years, Andy worked at the Great Northern Paper Company plant in East Millinocket, until its closure a few years ago. Andy’s joys were usually related to the outdoors. He hunted, fished, boated, and canoed throughout his life. In recent years, some of his happiest times were enjoyed with his beloved dog, Drake. Few people can claim that they have no enemies, but surely Andy was one such man. Mention of his name to any of a wide variety of friends and acquaintances in the Katahdin area will invariably bring a smile, a remembered joke, or an uplifting tale, with Andy as the main participant. The Katahdin forests, rivers, and streams he loved will seem a little less vibrant, a little less bright and welcoming for his passing. Andy was predeceased by his father, Carl O. Cram. He is survived by his daughters, Alicia and partner Ray O’Brien of Enfield, Cynthia Deveau of East Millinocket, and by his son, Nathan of Millinocket and Husson University. He is also survived by his mother, Viola Cram, three brothers and their wives, Stephen and Charlene, Phillip and Linda, and Robert and Janet, all of Medway, by his close friend Ann Raven of East Millinocket, and many nieces and nephews. It is difficult to mourn a man whose life, despite recent illness and discomfort, was most often a happy one. Rest well and easy son, father, brother, uncle, friend. A time of conversation and remembrance will be held 4-6 P.M. Wednesday, October 12 at the Lamson Funeral Home, 17 Western Avenue, East Millinocket. Private interment will be at the Grindstone Cemetery, Medway.
